It says on the bag that it uses 30% less water. It should say 100% less water because the stuff doesn't grow at all.
At least I don't have to deal with the weeds that other people have commented about. I tried using this stuff twice, once this past spring and again in beginning of October (it's been warm here in Ky.). I dug up the area bare area, added topsoil and fertilizer, watered daily and both times nothing at all sprouted. I then contacted a lawn guy who was running a special for aerating and seeding my whole lawn.
Same places the Pennington didn't grow are now coming up grass. I Will never buy another Pennington product and will tell everyone I know not to waste their time and money.
